What I actually want to build is technology that helps people create, discover, and express themselves — tools that give that instinct more room instead of replacing it. I think about this less like a product problem and more like a psychological one: the mind doesn't organize what it loves by category, it organizes by feeling, by resemblance, by some private logic that only makes sense in hindsight. You don't remember a film because of its genre. You remember it because it left something in you that a completely unrelated photograph, years later, quietly reopens. Most technology treats that kind of association as noise — something to clean up into tags and genres and tidy metadata. I think it's actually the signal. The interesting problem isn't sorting creative work into categories nobody asked for; it's building something that can follow a connection the way a mind actually would — sideways, half-consciously, toward something you didn't know you were looking for until you recognized it. That recognition is the part I'm chasing: the small, slightly uncanny feeling of being understood by something before you've fully understood it yourself.
